What Is Outpatient Drug Rehab Like in Lake Worth?
What Is Outpatient Drug Rehab?
Outpatient drug rehab is a flexible treatment option that allows people who need to work, go to school, or take care of other vital responsibilities to receive the help they need to overcome substance use disorders. In outpatient drug rehab, patients come to the treatment center for several hours each day and return home once treatment is over.
Depending on a person’s level of need, outpatient rehab can be attended three, five, or seven days a week. Outpatient drug rehab is offered in a variety of formats, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and even virtual intensive outpatient programs (VIOP).
Outpatient drug rehab also allows patients to apply the coping skills and tools they’ve learned in recovery to their life out in the world. Outpatient care is a strong support system that patients rely on for guidance as they navigate life free from alcohol and drugs.

Types of Outpatient Drug Rehab Programs
Partial Hospitalization is the most structured form of outpatient drug rehab offered at Recovery Unplugged. During PHP, patients either live at home or in a transitional living setting, and PHP can last anywhere from 10 to 15 days. Partial Hospitalization offers targeted care that people suffering from prolonged addiction need to avoid relapse while simultaneously allowing them to stay involved with their commitments outside rehab.
PHP is also a step down from residential treatment for those who wish to transition gradually from the inpatient environment with a robust support system.
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) is a more flexible program than PHP for people who need in-depth care balanced with enough independence to maintain their life outside treatment. Patients in IOP either reside at home or in a transitional sober living environment. During IOP, patients will spend two to three hours each day in structured treatment and can attend three, five, or seven days a week. IOP is covered by many private health insurances making it a more affordable option as well.
For people receiving ongoing medication-assisted treatment, either of these levels of care will allow them to continue this form of treatment on an outpatient basis.
How Long Is Outpatient Drug Rehab?
The question of how long outpatient drug rehab depends on which level of outpatient care you attend. In our partial hospitalization program, you can expect to spend between 10 and 15 days in addiction treatment. Clients who work through an intensive outpatient treatment plan can expect to spend between 10 and 30 days in treatment. Whether you opt to work through a partial hospitalization or an intensive outpatient program, you will have the choice to either live at home or in our transitional housing if you feel you need more stability during this stage of your addiction treatment.
