The Recovery Unplugged drug rehab program utilizes musical’s natural psychological and physiological healing abilities to help clients more readily embrace the drug treatment process. We are the first and only drug rehab program to fully integrate music into our care paradigm, while offering proven and traditional elements of treatment, including counseling and other supplemental therapy techniques. Clients undergo a wide range of music-focused techniques in group and independent settings, including listening to personalized playlists that promote emotionally resonant experiences, live performances from musicians in recovery, songwriting, performance production and more. Music has been proven to aid in the healing of a plurality of physical and psychological conditions. One recent international study, among many others, indicated that music is a potential treatment option to improve depression symptoms and quality of life across many age groups. Additional data indicates that musical interventions have been effective in the treatment of chronic pain and fibromyalgia, conditions common associated with opioid painkiller abuse and addiction. Research published by the American Psychological Association (APA) indicates music’s effectiveness in the treatment of anxiety disorder. All of these conditions are commonly associated with the onset of substance use disorder, and can lead to and sustain severe long-term drug addiction.
Our Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Paul Pellinger established Recovery Unplugged after decades of working in the addiction care field and realizing how music could help those suffering from addiction more readily trust the treatment process. Although we offer music-based therapy interventions, Recovery Unplugged also utilizes a full array of traditional clinical techniques including group therapy, one-on-one counseling, medication-assisted treatment and various other resources. The goal of our drug rehab program is to help clients connect with music as a means of discovering the root causes and sustaining factors of their addictions so they can begin and sustain the healing process. Our program is staffed with experienced, credentialed, compassionate and qualified psychiatrists and therapists.
Recovery Unplugged offers a variety of drug rehab program options, including inpatient and residential, outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization and more. Each one of our clients has a unique and distinct set of care needs, and we offer customized programs that fit their care needs and lifestyle. We offer drug rehab at multiple locations, including Florida, Texas and Virginia to give prospective clients easy access to the care model. Although the Recovery Unplugged treatment approach relies heavily on music to help patients open up to treatment, you do not need a musical background to benefit from the program. An overwhelming majority of our clients are not musicians and have engaged only passively with music (listening, appreciation, etc.).
Recovery Unplugged clients maintain long-term recovery (one year or longer) at a rate of four times the national average.
Our clients experience early AMA (against medical advice) discharges at a rate five times lower than the treatment industry average.
Nearly all Recovery Unplugged clients report a positive, rewarding and fulfilling treatment experience and say they’d recommend our programs to others who need help.
