This year, Recovery Unplugged was lucky enough to sponsor Sober Eve, a once-in-a-lifetime event hosted by Face the Music Foundation. Sober Eve was held in Houston, and offered all the celebratory elements of New Year’s Eve, except the drama that comes with drugs and alcohol. Sober Eve strives to create a safe space for those in recovery, without compromising any of the fun. At the most recent pop-up event, Recovery Unplugged ventured to The Story – Houston, where we captured the fun by taking photos in our festive attire before dancing to the music of DJ Freddy B. Throughout the night, attendees sipped on delicious “mocktails” provided by Houston locals Malt Organic, and kept the party going with a few coffees, courtesy of the Sober Eve coffee bar! The Grand Finale included everything Times Square, as we welcomed the New Year with a midnight confetti drop, and of course, fireworks! All proceeds from Sober Eve went to Face The Music Foundation, a non-profit who helps cultivate resources for addicts in need of substance abuse treatment.
