Recovery Unplugged Treatment Center attending South By Southwest

Recovery Unplugged Living it up at South By Southwest

South Florida addiction care leader Recovery Unplugged headed to Austin’s famed music and arts festival South by Southwest this year. The ten-day event continued its tradition of bringing together some of the most important and talented artists form around the world in an explosion of creativity, culture and arts-driven dialogue. The trip was an invaluable opportunity for the Recovery Unplugged crew to connect with world-class artists and musicians in an effort to spread our message of recovery and healing through music. One of the highlights of our excursion was our meeting with the Legendary Robert Plant to discuss the positive impact music and the creative process can have on addiction treatment.

Recovery Unplugged also had the chance to meet up with Nate Mendel (Foo Fighters and Sunny Day Real Estate), members of acclaimed punk band NOFX, as well as Chadwick Stokes (Dispatch) and Win Butler (Arcade Fire) with whom our team had the honor of making care packages for Austin’s homeless population. Marta Riggins, Pandora’s Director of Employee Experience and Marketing was also on hand to help. Recovery Unplugged was honored to be a part of such an inspiring and fulfilling event, and would like to thank all of the new friends we made at SXSW as well as the city of Austin for its hospitality and commitment to the arts.

In addition to being a forum for the world’s most promising artists to assemble, get inspired and exchange ideas, South by Southwest is one more opportunity to spread awareness of the inherent value of music in the addiction recovery process. As we expand our scope and continue to promote the enormous benefit of music-driven drug and alcohol addiction treatment, we look forward to being part of this event for many years to come.
