Recovery Unplugged Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center

Recovery Unplugged Featured on Austin’s KVUE TV

Last month, Austin ABC affiliate KVUE stopped by Recovery Unplugged Texas to learn more about our treatment process, success rates and unique and effective program. Our clients and staff were delighted to talk to KVUE and show the world how we use music to help patients heal from drug and alcohol addiction, as well as our exemplary long-term treatment outcomes. Our director of outreach Joseph Gorordo eloquently described the Recovery Unplugged Mission, as well as his own struggles with addiction, while fellow members of the RU staff and some of our clients talked about the unique nature of our program and what it’s done for struggling addicts in the Austin community.

The piece was the last in a four-part series produced by KVUE about how music can benefit the mind to help challenged communities. Previous installments included music’s benefits on the vision-impaired, elderly, and those on the autism spectrum. Recovery Unplugged would like to thank KVUE for stopping by and letting us show viewers our innovative and effective care approach. We are always grateful for an opportunity to spread the RU message of music-based addiction care and to let substance use disorder sufferers in Austin know they have an effective treatment resource right at home.
