This past June, Recovery Unplugged partied sober at The Republic of Texas Biker Rally in Austin, Texas. Held in the heart of Austin, this rally included activities that catered to everyone, from live music to vendors to tattoo expos and even helicopter rides. There wasn’t a dull moment all day or night! There WERE, however, over 200,000 attendees, making it the largest biker rally in the United States, and Recovery Unplugged was a part of it all! Recovery Unplugged Outreach hosted a tent right in the middle of the action, where we provided a safe and sober environment for those wanting all the fun without drugs or alcohol.
There, our representatives handed out one-of-a-kind motorcycle-inspired merch while interacting with the rally goers and bikers, alike. We played games of root beer pong on our specially designed pong tables and were able to chat with vendors and attendees in recovery. After a long day of partying sober, we kicked up our feet on the enormous Texas-sized lawn to listen to some live music from artists such as Kings of Chaos, Jackyl and Tom Keifer. The ROT Rally was one of the most fun, and certainly one of the most interesting events Recovery Unplugged was able to participate in!
