Recovery Unplugged Pride Month 2022 Recap

Recovery Unplugged closes out Pride Month 2022 by reinforcing the importance of year-round advocacy and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

Celebrating Pride Month 2022

As Pride Month 2022 comes to a close, Recovery Unplugged wants to thank the LGBTQ+ community at large for allowing us to celebrate alongside its members. We were honored and grateful to be on hand at the 2022 Stonewall Pride Parade & Street Festival in Wilton Manors, FL.

Our friends (both two-legged and four-legged) represented Recovery Unplugged in full force! Special shout-out to our buds at All Tails Wag for their amazing pet swag that allowed festival-goers’ pooches to show their pride right alongside their humans! It was a fantastic event, and we can’t wait for next year!

What Happens Now?

One of the most critical insights from this year’s Pride Month is how important it is to keep support, activism, and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community going at all levels of society and culture, including within the healthcare landscape. In a climate in which healthcare disparities persist, and rights and support remain fragmented for many populations within this broader community, it’s more important than ever to mobilize past June 30th.

There has been increased concern over the commercialization of Pride Month and how it can get in the way of real substantive change. In the meantime, individuals who identify in the sexual and gender minority are still significantly more likely to develop substance abuse and mental health issues and far less likely to receive adequate care.

LGBTQ+-Friendly Care at Recovery Unplugged

Recovery Unplugged wants every member of the LGBTQ+ community to know that we’re committed to being a genuine ally, and this starts with offering treatment that speaks to their unique mental health concerns and care needs. We’ll be here year-round if you or your loved one needsLGBTQ+friendly addiction treatment.
